The Candle in a Jar is used to light the world around the player as they move about. Think of it as a flashlight. PLEASE READ THIS PAGE CAREFULLY SINCE THERE A SOME BIG DIFFERENCES BETWEEN 1.12.2 and 1.14.4
 

1.14.4 Notes - Read CAREFULLY

Due to the new Lighting system since Minecraft 1.14.4, the way Candle in a Jar works has changed ALOT!

Candle in a Jar in 1.12.2 uses a hacky method to emit its light as you move about, but, this way of doing it is not possible in 1.14.4 and causes the game FPS to drop down to 0.
Since this cannot pass, the Candle in a Jar in 1.14.4 ONLY works when our Colored Light Mod is installed (Since it then uses shaders which is much faster and smoother) (See Colored Lighting page).

One of the biggest differences is also that the 1.14.4 Candle in a Jar works underwater as well.

To craft a Candle in a Jar, you will need:

• 1x Empty Glass Bottle
• 1x Candle (Default)

Place the above ingredients in the middle row of your crafting table in the following order from the left: Glass Bottle, Candle (or see image above)
